For all people with an interest in Antarctica, the Sub Antarctic, and the Southern Ocean. The NZ Antarctic Society has branches in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. The Society publishes 'Antarctic', a quarterly international publication. Locally, the Canterbury Branch hosts a range of events including Antarctic themed presentations/talks, mid-winter dinners with a link up to Scott Base and a partnership with IceFest. The Branch is also active in community inspired projects such as the Lyttelton Sled Dog Project including recently publishing a children’s book 'Dogs of the vastness - Ice Dogs of Lyttelton', by Ben Brown.
